Food manufacturers know perfectly well that it is sweet and fat that is the most desired for the consumer, and actively use these tastes to produce:

  • Fast food
  • Dairy products
  • Snacks
  • Confectionery.

What happens when we eat food with these tastes? Nervous cells of the taste system, once perceiving sweetness or fat, give a signal to the production of opioids, including the endorphins. The latter are chemical compounds that are produced in the brain and bring us pleasure.

If it is active, all other brain structures are in balance. In this case, people are able to move away from the tray with sweets, give up fatty cake and fried potatoes. If there is no balance in the work of brain structures, it is more difficult for us to “hit the brakes” and control our eating behavior.

Often, the activity of the cortex of the frontal lobes of the brain decreases due to:

  • trauma,
  • poor sleep,
  • alcohol abuse,
  • attention deficit disorder.
